2020 has been one for the history books. Help us WRAP UP 2020 with $20,000 to purchase a pallet wrapper.
This equipment will create an additional internal certification for trainees (with transferable skill to other warehousing jobs) and create a safer and more productive work flow for employees as we keep millions of pounds of electronics out of landfills each year.
“We’re proving that nothing needs to be disposed — electronics or people,” Tech Dump CEO Amanda LaGrange.
Here's more about Tech Dump’s important social + environmental missions:
- We serve up to 100 trainees per year. Trainees earn $11-14/hour and work full-time. All Tech Dump trainees are adults experiencing hardship and barriers to employment: with the majority having a history of incarceration and/or homelessness. Many of our trainees have struggled with substance abuse issues, suffered from a mental illness, and/or were diagnosed with a learning disability.
- While at Tech Dump, trainees gain valuable skills that are in-demand in today's workforce -- and that translate into diverse job options, including customer service, electronics de-manufacturing, logistics, sales, and marketing.
- One program graduate shared "Tech Dump helped me to start over. They encouraged me to take pride in my work and helped me regain the confidence I needed to succeed. I am forever grateful. "
- Tech Dump also has an impressive social and environmental ROI in the Twin Cities. For every $1 spent on a trainee that completes the program, there is a ROI of $9.24. Our environmental ROI is $4.23 for every $1 that goes to the organization.
