“We’re proving that nothing needs to be disposed — electronics or people,” states REPOWERED (formerly know as Tech Dump & Tech Discounts) CEO Amanda LaGrange.

The US produces the most e-waste in the world, yet only 15-20% is recycled or re-used. That's where REPOWERED comes in: we reduce e-waste in our landfills, advocate for reusing valuable materials, and change the lives of unemployed adults through our job training program.

REPOWERED responds to needs in the Twin Cities: a place to safely and responsibly recycle electronics and a long-term, hands on training program that pays trainees to gain the skills they need to transform their lives and gain employment.

Any and all donations help advance REPOWERED’s important social + environmental missions:

  • We serve up to 100 trainees per year. Trainees start at $14/hour and work full-time. All REPOWERED trainees are adults experiencing hardship and barriers to employment: with the majority having a history of incarceration and/or homelessness. Many of our trainees have struggled with substance abuse issues, suffered from a mental illness, and/or were diagnosed with a learning disability.
  • While at REPOWERED, trainees gain valuable skills that are in-demand in today's workforce -- and that translate into diverse job options, including customer service, electronics de-manufacturing, logistics, sales, and marketing.
  • One program graduate shared "REPOWERED (formerly know as Tech Dump & Tech Discounts) helped me to start over. They encouraged me to take pride in my work and helped me regain the confidence I needed to succeed. I am forever grateful. "
  • REPOWERED also has an impressive social and environmental ROI in the Twin Cities. For every $1 spent on a trainee that completes the program, there is a ROI of $9.24. Our environmental ROI is $4.23 for every $1 that goes to the organization.

We have huge growth plans, working to double our size and impact by 2025 while deepening the quality of our work readiness training program. Please consider supporting REPOWERED as we grow our program and increase our impact in the Twin Cities. Thanks for making a difference in our community!
