I first saw Zorongo Flamenco perform "Sor Juana" at the O'Shaughnessy in St. Paul and was absolutely blown away by the power and strength of flamenco and the artistry of Susana di Palma and the other artists. I began to attend all of Zorongo's shows at various venues. Then one day in 2006 I received a mailing promoting their dance classes at the studio. It was like a bolt of lightning from above hit me. I could study this art form??? Well, I signed up for a dance class and haven't looked back. It is a wonderful journey and I love the challenge.
Zorongo has helped nurture and support many local, national and international artists over the years. This is Zorongo Flamenco's 40th Anniversary season. Recently Zorongo performed at the Cowles in their Fall Forward Festival. "The Birds Gather" was part of a larger piece based on the 12th Century poem "Conference of the Birds". Will you help me support founder and Artistic Director Susana di Palma's vision of presenting the full length production and see the birds fly once more?
