We strive to enrich our community by drawing people close to the beauty and energy of the flamenco tradition
As we begin another year of amazing flamenco performance and instruction here at Zorongo Flamenco, we are more grateful than ever for the support YOU have given us! Without your contributions, we would not be able to offer the range of classes, large shows, community events, and smaller performances that has made us one of the premiere flamenco companies in the nation.
In 2016, we returned to The Cowles Center with a new show titled "Lorca's Women”. This performance was awarded a 2016 Sage Award for "Outstanding Performance". A pleasant and rewarding surprise. This past November we also premiered for the first time Susana di Palma’s full-length contemporary flamenco ballet "Los Caprichos" which is inspired by Spanish artist Francisco Goya and his satirical prints by the same name including "The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters". Both shows were accompanied by seasons of workshops, outreach performances, and talkbacks.
Together with your help, we have instructed 100s of students in the arts of flamenco dance, guitar and singing at our south Minneapolis studio. We hope you can join us in continuing that tradition.
Please consider making a donation to help us accomplish our mission "to enrich our community by drawing people close to the beauty and energy of the flamenco tradition." All contributions will go to flamenco education, performances, and community activism.
