City Creature Comforts are walking to help comfort our homeless community members! Will U come along, or contribute...please?
I support Agate Housing and Services because having a safe place to call "Home" is a Human Right, not a "Privilege"! I want everyone to have a safe and stable home. On Saturday, March 8th, I'm going to A Walk in the Life. Register to join my team or walk here!
The Gentle Nudge
Walk your talk, Cuz talk is cheap,
So step with Sincerity!
We all need to feel loved - including You.
We all love to feel needed - We need You!
But you say to yourself, "What can I do?
For I am only a Party of One."
Look up! So is the Sun!
The future seems so uncertain and bleak.
Your burdens weigh heavy! Your struggle is Real!
I know how you feel...
"Downtrodden and weak"
I feel it too...
I sure don't have all the answers.
I don't even know What to ask!
But I'm certain that it starts
With opening Our Embattled Hearts!
As we navigate paths of broken glass,
I'll always have your back.
And when the day ends,
ALL God's Creatures
Truly can be Friends.

Being unhoused and unsheltered is dangerous all year round, but winter presents its own set of life-threatening challenges. At the Walk, I'll walk a mile outside to raise awareness for those who have to live there. And I'm raising money to support them, too. Will you help? We're supporting people like Shannon.
“I honestly didn’t think it would be possible to have good times again; to laugh. But a lot of really good stuff has come my way. Lots of good stuff I never expected.”
When Shannon met Agate, she was using drugs and living in a tent during Minnesota’s winter. An Agate staff person worked with her to get her stable and housed. But she was wary of authority figures because of past trauma. She had a hard time truly committing to the work.
Then she lost her partner. She fell deeper into addiction until she overdosed and hit bottom.
Agate staff offered her a chance to go into rehab. Shannon agreed. And then she fought. She worked incredibly hard to pick up the pieces of her life. It took a lot. Thankfully, she had support along the way. That, and her commitment to change, made all the difference.
Shannon’s story is not unique. Nor is her resilience and strength.
When you donate to Agate, you make stories' like Shannon's possible. Make your gift today and it will be doubled. That's double the chance to change the next Shannon's life.
