YPC Theatre Kids for Life

We appreciate your support as we provide local youth with life changing performing arts experiences!

Whether you are a YPC alumni, a supporter of the arts, or just a theatre kid at heart, you know how powerful creative experiences can be in the development of our youth.  It isn't easy growing-up in today's world, there are serious challenges around every corner. At YPC we strive to give our youth a safe place to grow, to find their voice and to become leaders for the future.

This campaign is earmarked for the purpose of providing scholarships for classes and camps, and exposing youth to live performances as audience members at low to no cost to them and their families. 

OPPORTUNITY

YPC does not charge youth to participate in our main stage performances, or our leadership training program, The YPC Young Artist Council––families can pay up to $800 per show for similar experiences elsewhere in the Twin Cities. We are determined to keep our ticket costs and our tuition affordable in an increasingly difficult economic climate for youth and families. So much so, that thirty-percent of our youth attend classes and summer camps with full scholarships. 

ACCESS

We provide complimentary tickets to community organizations that otherwise would not be able to bring their youth to a live arts experience in the Twin Cities. We need your support now, more than ever, to maintain our current programming and extend those opportunities to more youth through scholarships as well as complimentary and discounted tickets.

IMPACT

Teens who participate in the arts see higher SAT scores by an average of 91 points; low-income students who participate in the arts are more likely to do well in college, obtain meaningful employment, volunteer in their communities, and vote; and arts programming is linked to high attendance, and a reduction in dropout rates. Participation in YPC after-school programs and summer camp activities helps teens engage in the world around them. Our programs provide a focus for their ambition, and the affirming social experiences that all teens need.
