Since 2015 Unicorn Riot has consistently covered important social, political and economic issues not only in the U,S but around the world.
In 2019 we passed a milestone, adding our first international correspondent from Durban, South Africa. In 2020 we remain committed to our mission of delivering accessible, accurate and diverse international content.
Some of our international stories include:
Pipeline politics in the Syrian Civil War - Our first international story was an investigative piece on the destructive impact of oil pipelines in the Syrian civil war. (2015)
Greece: The House of Women for Empowerment and Emancipation - In Greece, the House of Women for Empowerment and Emancipation is building networks of mutual aid for detained refugees and migrants. (2017)
CONFRONTING CLIMATE CHANGE IN ICELAND - Unicorn Riot went to Iceland to take an in-depth look at the consequences of human-caused climate change. (2019)
Reclaiming Space in South Africa: I.D Green Camp Gallery - Urban renewal project "Green Camp" flourishes in Durban, South Africa (2019)
We are aided by a network of trusted volunteers and community relationships around the world.
Our unique and ever growing international coverage is only possible through individual donations gifted to us by our community of viewers.
In the year 2020 our small non-profit organization has suffered significant financial losses — over 50% of our expected & recurring donations have been canceled since mid-February.
If you value and want to continue seeing our dynamic international coverage then we need your help today! Any and all financial contributions you make will go directly towards our international media production costs and ensure that we continue growing in 2020!
