The Star of the North Maternity Home is helping fill the dire need for housing for homeless mothers and their babies on the Iron Range. We opened in 2022 and moved into our "She is Home" in January. We are excited to help the Iron Range Communities! It costs approximately $100 per day to house each Mom and Baby and provide programming!
A single woman with a baby is 12 times more likely to end up in poverty without the additional support of education and job skills.
Our goal is to go beyond housing to transform women's lives with education, holistic medical care and comprehensive services by partnering with local organizations that share similar missions.
Whether a mom wants to keep her baby or explore adoption, we will be here to support them to independence.
The Star of the North Maternity Home was started in Duluth, MN as a program of Together For Life Northland. Our goal is fairly simple: we exist to support homeless, pregnant women with love, shelter and resources to independence. Our moms are able to stay in our program for up to 18 months.
About Together for Life Northland (TFLN) | TFLN is a 501c3 non-profit organization comprised of 12 collaborative agencies who strive to build a Culture of Life in the region. As we work together to serve mothers and babies, we identified a need for a housing program for homeless pregnant women.
A productive, healthy future for a mother choosing life for her baby is priceless. Your investment in one of our programs, Star of the North Maternity Home Iron Range, is an opportunity to demonstrate our care for the most vulnerable in a life-changing way.
