Frank Theatre -- Good for you brain, food for your soul
As a Twin Cities theater lover, I was introduced to Frank Theatre when I attended its production of "Three Penny Opera" during its 25th anniversary season in 2014. But I got fully hooked after seeing Frank's version of "The Visit" four years later in 2018. Little did I know what that would lead to. Shortly after seeing that play, I ended up joining Frank's working board and have been fully immersed ever since. Frank isn't for everyone but it is true to its mission -- "committed to producing unique work that stretches the skills of the artists who create the work while simultaneously challenging the everyday perceptions of the audience through the exploration of ideas and issues of social, political and/or cultural concern." Wendy Knox's productions make you think (brain food) and provide plenty of fodder for discussion once the actors take their final bow and the curtain goes down.
Although the pandemic has brought a halt to our productions, Frank has remained active during this hiatus, innovating ways to keep a dialogue going with its audiences through its vital "Frankly Speaking" series. Our hope is to return with live, boundary-pushing, can't-miss theater this spring, but we need your financial help to make this happen. Please consider supporting Frank Theatre during Give to the Max and help keep this Twin Cities theatre gem strong.
