Support ALEBRIJES: Keepers of the Island
This summer, Raspberry Island will come alive with ALEBRIJES: Keepers of the Island — a breathtaking public art exhibition that brings the rich imagination of Mexican folk art to the heart of Saint Paul. But this is more than an exhibit — it's a bold, first step toward a historic vision: the creation of the Minnesota Latino Museum.
We are raising $25,000 to support ALEBRIJES as a powerful launchpad for our state’s first museum dedicated to celebrating the history, heritage, and artistic expression of more than 400,000 Minnesotans of Mexican and Latin American descent.
This immersive experience, featuring 16 monumental sculptures by visiting artists from Mexico City, will help us:
Demonstrate the cultural and economic impact of Latino arts in public spaces
Build public awareness and momentum for our museum’s future home on the West Side Flats
Engage community voice and participation through workshops, events, and storytelling
Showcase the talent and contributions of Latino artists locally and globally
Lay the foundation for long-term investment and institutional partnerships
Your gift helps fund critical exhibit costs — artist stipends, monthly sculpture maintenance, educational programming, and outreach to ensure access for all — while also fueling the movement to establish a permanent museum that reflects our stories, struggles, and dreams.
The Minnesota Latino Museum will be a home for our community’s past, present, and future — and ALEBRIJES is where that journey begins.
