Making EMDR Trauma Therapy available to all Minnesota Veterans, National Guard and Reserves

Veteran Resilience Project  grew from a successful 2014 Pilot Project, demonstrating the efficacy of EMDR therapy for military trauma.  Because of the project, the VA nationally mandated at least one EMDR therapist at all VA Centers in the country.  That is a great but small start, but not all who served are eligible for VA services.  Some who are eligible and value the great physical care they get at the VA, still will not go there for mental health issues and military sexual assault.  More and more we see veterans stepping up and choosing to say publicly, "I was considering suicide.  EMDR turned that around for me."  Thank you to all who continue to make donations that pay for the VRP statewide network of therapists to make that happen.  I am once again on the American Legion's 100 Mile Walk for Hope, including several 20 mile days representing the number of veterans who daily choose to take their own life.  My walk story continues to invite donations, as well as to encourage all Minnesotans to call their Representatives and Senators.  Ask them to support HF792 and SF2102, calling for infrastructure funding so VRP can reach even more veterans.  The  leadership skills and abilities of too many veterans are buried beneath a landfill of untreated military trauma.  Digging that out, and bringing all veterans back to productive, joyful life is the mission of Veteran Resilience Project.
