Loring Elementary is proud to partner with the Kaari Family to honor Ann Kaari, a lifelong Northsider whose passion for education was a force for good.
Ann loved her north Minneapolis neighborhood, serving as treasurer of the Victory Neighborhood Association and the Patrick Henry High School Foundation, co-founding the annual Holiday on 44th community event, tutoring students at Loring Community School and Harry Davis Academy, and volunteering as a Cub Scout den mother and secretary of Boy Scout Troop 129. She was so valued in the community that she even had a pizza named after her on the menu of neighborhood restaurant Papa's Pizza and Pasta!
Ann was strong, intelligent, and generous with a wry sense of humor. She served the children and teachers of Minneapolis on the Minneapolis School Board with integrity and dedication for 12 years, several of those as chair. She was proud of being a member of the Patrick Henry High School Hall of Fame, and one of the state's first women to be inducted into the Boy Scouts of America's Order of the Arrow.
Ann raised 2 boys who attended Loring Elementary and Patrick Henry High School. We are proud to honor Ann's many accomplishments and love of the Northside with the Ann Kaari Fund for Educational Excellence.
