Vergas Event Center

The Vergas Community is respectfully seeking funding to improve the Vergas Event Center. The improvements will provide a safe and quality space that is better suited to host activities, classes, events, and regional meetings. Our vibrant rural community has 355 residents. We are located in west central Minnesota, surrounded by Detroit Lakes, Perham and Pelican Rapids.

The Vergas Event Center is utilized by all, from youth to seniors. Our youth gather at the facility for studying in the Smart Room. Regional youth attend Prairie Fire Theatre, art camps, and other activities here. Seniors come to the Event Center for exercise, group meetings, and to socialize. Professionals utilize the Smart Room for job interviews and connecting online. First-aid classes and blood drives are held there annually.

Local organizations such as the Vergas Community Club, Vergas Lions, and more organizations, host monthly and bimonthly meetings at the facility. Regional organizations such as West Central Initiative and League of Minnesota Cities host planning meetings. The Event Center is truly a place where community prospers and grows.

To expand opportunities in Vergas we need resources to enhance our facility to work better for everyone. Improvements include sliding doors to separate the kitchen from the meeting area, stove and commercial freezer. This project will serve the region with a better meeting space for all.
