Pillsbury House + Theatre (PH+T) is a place like no other. Founded in 1992, with roots extending more than a century, our historic home on Chicago Avenue in South Minneapolis unites award-winning arts and theatre experiences with essential community services. Every day, we work to support choice, change, and connection in the lives of those we serve.

Your Give to the Max contribution helps sustain this vital ecosystem—where creativity fuels equity, belonging, and lasting community transformation.

About Our Work

Each year, PH+T stages three mainstage theatre productions, ranging from classical texts by celebrated playwrights to courageous new works by emerging voices. We also nurture early-career artists through the Naked Stages Fellowship and support two McKnight Theatre Artist Fellows annually.

Community engagement is at the heart of everything we do. Acclaimed programs such as the Chicago Avenue Project and Breaking Ice bring artists and community members into deep collaboration, fostering understanding, empathy, and collective action.

Next door, our sister enterprises—the Full Cycle Bike Shop and KRSM Radio Station—extend this impact by creating opportunities for youth employment, skill-building, and creative expression. Together, these interconnected programs form a dynamic network that strengthens the entire community.

The Home of Pillsbury Creative Commons

In 2025, the newly completed Pillsbury Creative Commons (PCC) is fully alive with activity. This vibrant arts and economic development hub expands PH+T’s mission, offering youth workforce training, artist workspace, community events, and small business incubation. The PCC represents our belief that creativity and economic opportunity can—and must—grow side by side.

Your support during Give to the Max helps us continue developing programming within the PCC and sustain the artists, educators, and neighbors who make this work possible.
