Our Fostering Journey: A Story of Hope and Community

Since becoming licensed foster parents in 2021, our family has welcomed over a dozen children into our home, each bringing unique stories and life lessons. We've learned that fostering is not just about providing shelter; it’s about nurturing growth, love, and resilience for the children we care for. We are grateful for the compassion, patience, and resiliency that these experiences have instilled in us and our biological kids. These experiences have enriched our lives and deepened our understanding of community service.

However, fostering is not without its challenges. The emotional toll can be heavy, and the demands sometimes feel overwhelming. That’s where Foster Together MN has made an incredible difference. This nonprofit has been a lifeline for our family, connecting us with other foster parents who share similar experiences and challenges. They have provided invaluable support, meeting our tangible needs during particularly tough times.

As board president of Foster Together MN, I am passionate about extending this vital support to other families navigating the fostering journey. Together, we can reduce burnout and promote positive outcomes for both caregivers and the children in their care.
