💛 “This Is Why We Need a Home of Our Own.”

As a foster parent and board president of Foster Together MN, I’ve met countless families and children through our Abundant Goods resource program — each one with their own story, but all with the same need: to feel seen, supported, and cared for.

I’ll never forget the little boy who came in wearing shoes two sizes too small and left grinning ear to ear with brand new sneakers that actually fit. Or the teen who quietly asked if she could pick out a dress for her first school dance. Or the grandma raising three grandkids who burst into tears when she realized everything she needed was free — and that someone cared enough to make it beautiful.

These are the moments that remind me why we do this work. But right now, we’re outgrowing the borrowed spaces that have carried us this far. Families need a permanent place to gather, shop with dignity, and find community.
