Hey friends!!
I've spent the vast majority of my acting career here in the Twin Cities, and I'm honored to be a member of the board of Frank Theatre. I've become a true Frankophile! This edgy LITTLE THEATER somehow finds a way to produce BIG socially, politically and culturally relevant plays that may be overlooked, or deemed too difficult to be produced here locally, and all of them richly produced on a shoestring budget. Our feisty artistic director, Wendy Knox, says, "If people leave our plays asking, 'Where shall we go eat?', then we haven't done our job."
Right now we need some help. We aren't producing plays, BUT we are putting together monthly discussions on Facebook Live called "Frankly Speaking: What's Up With That?" These are conversations that drive Frank's work - issues that the arts community are currently wrestling with. Keeping the lights on for a small, rough and tough theater company during a pandemic is no easy task. Is Frank up to the challenge? ... YES!!!
*Last year, Frank celebrated its 30th anniversary. 30 years of producing smart, challenging theatre that includes world premieres, musicals, area premieres, a lot of Bertolt Brecht, some stunning performances staged in the least likely venues, and plenty of food for thought. We just squeaked out our 31st season, when COVID brought the curtain down. We miss you and we CAN'T wait to get back in the theatre with you. Any help you can offer to help us get to the strongest possible position to do so will be greatly appreciated!
