Be a LIFESAVER!

Help provide safe shelter and stability to local families with children experiencing homelessness.

COVID-19 has affected all areas of life.  Those experiencing homelessness are greatly impacted and they need safe shelter now more than ever.  New Pathways' Path to Home Shelter Program has changed it's model during the pandemic to provide single shelter accommodations, like hotel rooms, which is the safest shelter option for all involved.  Problem is, this wasn't planned or in the budget.   Our main fundraiser, Troutlily Fest has been postponed and general donations are down.  Help us stay afloat and be a lifesaver to our friends and neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Why New Pathways?

Your support will help us solve the homeless crisis in Central Minnesota where services and supports are scarce.

It will give a family a chance….a chance to have a safe place to sleep, to take a hot shower and put on clean clothes, to work with skilled staff who can help assess their needs and develop a plan to get into a home of their own, and a chance to do many of the things we take for granted.

Most of the people served in our program are children with a majority of them being under the age of five.

"Families can come to us with just the clothes on their backs, which sadly happens often, and be okay.   We give them the supplies and support they need to move out of survival mode and into thriving. "

                                                                                             -Mary Westlund,  Executive Director

"I was doing really good, I had a really good job and out of the blue I was laid off.  It was the scariest time for me, not only because I was homeless but I had a son that counted on me...My son and I stayed in my truck for a couple of weeks during the coldest time of the winter.  It was miserable....(At New Pathways) I got all the support that everybody deserves and needs that I just wasn't finding in the community.  When I came here I felt all of a sudden that I had a family."

-Former guest, single mom with son                                                                                                            successfully placed in housing

Typically, New Pathways' Path to Home Shelter Program partners with area churches to provide the night shelter and meals.  During the pandemic, it is safest for enrolled families to be sheltered in single shelter spaces, like hotel rooms. Partnering churches are still partnering to provide meals.
