Mulier Dierum is an epic dance and choral production that mirrors the strength of cumulative generations of women, showing LIVE at Caponi Art Park on June 25 and 26 at 9:00pm.
A gorgeous production and collaboration between the stellar See Change Treble Choir, a choir of 40 women’s voices, and Off-Leash Area, the Ivey and Sage Award Winning dance & theater company, the show is a journey about the resilience and power of all generations of women, told in voice, dance, sound, and live animation/projection design.
Off-Leash Area has been determined to continue to provide live art experiences through the pandemic. With an enormous amount of commitment to making great art, and willingness to pivot as many times as it takes from our collaborators, See Change Treble Choir, composer Linda Kachelmeier, and sound engineer Reid Kruger, we have all succeeded in making this project happen live this summer! We need you to help make all this happen.

In devising the production, Director and Choreographer Jennifer Ilse rejects the western assumptive female journey towards invisible old crone, and insists on the value of women and femme power at all ages.
Through nearly two years of work and multiple pivots through the pandemic, Jennifer Ilse has led a team of artistic collaborators and a cast of women dancers of ages spanning each decade from 20’s to 60’s.
In Mulier Dierum, women face fears and fulfill desires with ferocity and vulnerability, sharing generational wisdom and wildness.
The voices of forty choral singers, several live soloists, and the bodies of eight dancers affirm together: Women build, honor, persevere, and flourish.
The talent of our most experienced artists should be valued. This fiercely held belief is the uniting force with project collaborators - choral composer Linda Kachelmeier, and See Change Treble Choir, whose mission is to celebrate the strength and creativity of women of all ages.
Directed and choreographed by Co-Artistic Director Jennifer Ilse,Mulier Dierum is being created in collaboration with See Change Treble Choir under the direction of Allyss Haecker, singing an original choral score by Linda Kachelmeier, with performances by dancers Gemma Isaacson, Christine McGinnis, Parisha Rajbhandari, Julie Warder, Heather Klopchin, Rachel Lieberman, Jennifer Mack, Esther Ouray, and Jennifer Ilse; with Co-Artistic Director Paul Herwig's immersive live animation projection design, and sound composition/engineering by Reid Kruger.
