Update #2
Year two of Giving to Youth Ultimate!
Help us expand the impact of youth ultimate in Minnesota through giving – join us on November 8th!
Last year, our player scholarship campaign received over 3,000 views across all social media platforms. Thanks to 150 generous donors, we made a meaningful difference for youth ultimate players in Minnesota. But as the cost of youth sports rises, we need additional support structures to relieve registration costs and remove financial barriers that risk alienating families. Even small contributions—$1, $5, or $10—can build a foundation for every player to thrive.
How to Get Involved
Join us on November 8th at 7 PM at Scheid Hall at Surly! A portion of drink sales (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will go toward scholarships, helping more youth participate. RSVP here: https://form.jotform.com/242904548988171
Can’t attend? You can still support our scholarship fund directly: https://minnesotaultimate.org/donate
Spread the word! Sharing this event and scholarship opportunity with your network helps us reach more families and expand access to ultimate across Minnesota.
This year, we awarded $28,515 in financial aid, our largest amount yet, much of it from MNU’s reserves. With your support, we can build the resources needed to ensure no player is denied the opportunity to play ultimate.
About Minnesota Ultimate
In 2003, Minnesota Ultimate (MNU) was founded as a nonprofit organization with the goal of providing organized programming to middle and high school players in the twin cities, a hub of the fast growing ultimate frisbee scene.
"The mission of Minnesota Ultimate is to support and build a community by offering inclusive, quality programming that focuses on learning, playing, and teaching."
Today, this mission ripples throughout Minnesota, in particular in the Twin Cities Metro area where it serves 3,500 participants and families, molding and fostering pivotal experiences for a diverse array of passionate and dedicated players, their families, and coaches.
MNU has been fortunate to collaborate with thousands of players and families during our history. We are eternally grateful to have shared in so many experiences, friendships, and personal growth moments. However, there is still tremendous work to be done.
The next step in our organization's journey starts now and we need your partnership to kickstart our organization's next chapter through this campaign!
The Campaign for $50,000
As we look to the future, MNU faces the tough realization of necessary growth. We have historically acted in the best interest of our youth and their families. In particular, because we place emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, MNU registration fee are separated by two groups, with Middle School's cost of $20 and high school's cost $40 being 34% below and 27% below the market value price for youth athletics. Unfortunately, this has often placed MNU in difficult situations, especially as it relates to staff shortage, staff burnout, and staff turnover; MNU has only had 2 full-time staff, with occasional 2 part-time support staff, while serving a fast growing community.
Finally, With the shift of the Youth Club Champions out of Minnesota, Our players and families are receiving a larger hardship, especially in our Youth Club program. With your gift to this campaign, MNU plans to make a direct impact on player participation and opportunities. 100% of your donation will go directly to supporting one or more youth players in the Minnesota community
