For 6 years, I've been lucky to sit on the Mile in My Shoes (MiMS) board of directors. I've been even luckier to run several races alongside members of MiMS' running teams. This fall, I trained with our Distance Crew and paced (aka tried to keep up with) Alumni Member Matt at the Downtown Run Around 5K and City of Lakes Half Marathon. (We're pictured after the half, at right.)

As our runners often say, every mile changes you. (To see what they mean, check out our Member Stories, including Matt's, here.)

When you donate today (early giving is open!), your gift keeps our seven current teams running, linking volunteers with people experiencing homelessness, recovering from substance use, reentering the community after incarceration, and—new this year—navigating life after military service.

What's more, thanks to generous matching donors, your donation instantly doubles. Like another perk? When you donate $50, you'll get our MiMS buff—and we’ll donate one to a Member to help them keep running through the winter season. When you donate $100, you’ll score our brand-new MiMS-branded technical trucker cap (pictured here)! At the $250 level, our signature orange MiMS-branded polarized run shades are yours.

P.S. On Thanksgiving Day I'll be running the "Drumstick Dash 10K" alongside a Resident Member. This is the year-end race for Mile in My Shoes—come see the MiMS family out on Lake Harriet the morning of the 23rd!

Thank you for supporting me and Mile in My Shoes!
