MAC Endowment Builder

MacRostie Art Center is a hub of the creative community in northern Minnesota. The MAC got its start as the Itasca Art Association and officially incorporated in 1966. Over the past 60 years we've grown from a group of painters to a true center for art in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. 

Today the MAC operates three galleries, offers year round art classes for youth and adults, and manages an art shop featuring local artists. The MAC also partners with civic, educational, and community organizations to extend our reach beyond the walls of our building. 

Visionary leaders of the MAC established an endowment fund over 20 years ago. Thanks to a generous bequest from previous MAC director Steve Downing, that endowment has grown to just over $180,000. It is our goal to build the fund to $250,000 over the year of our 60th anniversary. Reaching that milestone will provide annual distributions large enough to impact our ability to provide programs and staffing, and like all endowments, its goal is to provide long term financial stability for the organization over the decades to come.

Donations can be made directly to the MAC or the MacRostie Art Center Endowment Fund at the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation. 100% of any online donations designated for the endowment will be put directly into that fund.
