Will you please help us provide a safe place for survivors to begin the healing process.

$75,000 goal

In September 2019, Breaking Free opened its first Emergency Shelter.  This was a greatly needed addition to the direct services Breaking Free offers to clients.  During the first year, the Emergency Shelter served 50 women escaping from sex trafficking and prostitution.

The shelter provides a private and secure bedroom, a welcoming kitchen for meal prep, and 24-hour on-site advocates.  The clients receive help getting important documents, food, transportation, clothing, and referrals to drug treatment, as needed.  The advocates and all the services and resources at Breaking Free are available to help with the next steps needed for healing and support.

Here are some recent comments made by Emergency Shelter residents and graduates of our SOS healing program:

“The Emergency Shelter at Breaking Free saved my life.  I have called my mom twice and told her that I would not be alive if it was not for the Emergency Shelter at Breaking Free.”

“You gave me hope.  Before I came here, I didn’t have any hope. You gave me hope.”
