Lindsay's 2020 Annual Giving Campaign for MAEE

Where it all started...  I believe that connecting with nature as a child led me to dedicating my life's work to environmental education.  Like so many of us, water played an important role in many of my outdoor adventures. Memories of swimming, catching frogs, boating and fishing are just a few that come to mind. The connections and memories I made in nature as a child helped lay a strong foundation for my feelings of interconnectedness, empathy and stewardship of our planet and the species on it. 

Environmental Education is key...  I want every child to have access to connect with the outdoors and nature. More than just access, I want every child's curiosity about the natural world to be recognized and fostered. Our planet is in desperate need of our attention and care. I believe that Environmental Education is a key part of the solution to building a brighter future for our planet.  Author Richard Louv put it well when he wrote, "We cannot protect something we do not love, we cannot love what we do not know, and we cannot know what we do not see. And touch. And hear".  I want ALL children to have to opportunity to see, touch and hear the natural word, and in turn, act to protect it as an adult.
