Rescue Network: Roads that Lead to Rescue

I started fostering a few years ago, not knowing how big of an impact it would have on my life today. I will always be grateful for the first foster dog I had from a reservation. She opened my eyes (and heart) to the help needed for animals on reservations.

Many animals that live on reservations don't have the easiest start in life; whether they have been dumped by a family to fend for themselves or having been born without shelter. Families that love their animals not having the resources to provide necessary medical care or even get them fixed.  Despite their rough start in life, these cats and dogs are among the sweetest beings I have had the privilege to meet. 

On my first trip to a South Dakotan Reservation, I had no idea what to expect. When I got there it was shocking how dogs were just roaming the streets. That was when I realized how much support was needed. Luckily, I know some people that shared the same desire to help. 

After a couple of years of taking trips and rescuing animals on one reservation, two friends and I started a rescue that focuses on providing the necessary resources for animals on reservations and surrounding areas in South Dakota. We mainly work with four different reservations and have been fortunate to have many wonderful volunteers help us get to where we are today.  Rescue Network prides itself on not only finding homes for unwanted, neglected, or owner surrendered cats and dogs, but we also provide funding for low income families that need help providing medical care for their animals.  We have not had to say "no" to an animal yet.  Please donate today so we can continue our mission.
