Building the Future Together

When I moved to Minnesota about 16 years ago, I was COMPLETELY new in town and didn't know much about this place, or even about public policy, for that matter.

A Citizens League event was one of the very first places I met others interested in making new connections and exploring community issues.

Then, a few years later, the Citizens League was one of the first organizations I started regularly supporting with a donation, because I was so excited about the new Capitol Pathways internship program. (Capitol Pathways is still going strong - now entering its 8th year!).

So it was especially meaningful when I had the opportunity to say YES to serving as the League’s Executive Director about two years ago. I BELIEVE in this work, and all of the people doing it. We have an incredible team of six full time staff, amazing donors and organizational members, and so many awesome people participating in programming and initiatives.

The Citizens League works tirelessly to ensure that everyone has a voice and is engaged in designing, developing, and enacting systems that work better for all. We create unique and rare space to bridge divides – space that is so needed right now.
