As Mentor North’s Executive Director, I have the joy of seeing time and again how mentoring one young person changes two lives.
Through a supported one-on-one mentoring relationship, kids get to explore their unique interests and build new skills at their own pace. They gradually grow in confidence with a caring adult who’s there just for them -- someone who helps open doors to the wider community and expands a network of adults who believe in them. Having a steady, supportive person in their corner can make all the difference when life feels uncertain or hard.
Each year, Mentor North supports more than 150 youth through meaningful connections. At a time when youth mental health needs are rising, 91% of our matched youth say they feel happy spending time with their mentor and more positive about their future. None of this would be possible without our volunteer mentors AND with our dedicated staff, who train mentors, nurture matches, respond to family needs, and make sure every relationship has what it needs to thrive.
Our mentors often tell us that the experience changes their lives, too. One even said that mentoring was among “the best experiences of my life.”
I’m honored to lead and work alongside Mentor North's incredible team and community. Will you please join me in sustaining this important work?
For 2025 we are launching our Mentor North Power of 20 Campaign - with the goal to raise $20,000 and launch 20 new monthly donors all by Nov 20th.
Resilience Builders - Please consider becoming a Resilience Builder by choosing an automated monthly donation! This will enable your partnership with Mentor North to benefit youth, families and community year round.
We welcome one-time donations, too - every donation helps create positive change.
I hope you choose to donate! Every donation matters. You can also help by sharing your story about why mentoring matters.
