More than ever, your generosity invests in equity-minded educators finding innovative, effective solutions for our children during this pandemic. We need school closures to flatten the curve, but these closures should not come at the expense of our children’s education. They should not widen achievement gaps and result in the loss of basic services, like food, to our most vulnerable students.

Our educators and staff will push school, school districts, and local governments to respond to the needs of all students, including our students of color and students with special needs, as they make this uncharted transition from classroom to distant learning. In a time when many more families are facing economic hardships, our teachers have and will continue to fight hard to make sure that every child has the basic and educational needs to succeed.
