For the past 16 years, Holiday Wishes has provided aid and support for struggling Twin Cities families who are also working toward a better life. This year, the project is hoping to help 38 families. Many of these families have experienced homelessness and poverty, but they are working to overcome these struggles with positive outlooks and several are trying to obtain an education.
A few years ago, Holiday Wishes helped grant the wish of a little girl, Susan Silvas; all she wanted was a tree for her family to help celebrate the holidays. The Butler family donated gifts to her family, including a seven foot tree!
It’s because of people like Susan and the Butlers, that we are inspired to give each holiday season. Please know that whatever you give matters and will make a difference in the lives of these families and others like them.
Thank you to The Emil J. and Emily D. Slowinski Fund of The Saint Paul Foundation for their generous dollar-for-dollar matching gift, up to $10,000, on Give to the Max Day, Thursday, November 15.
