CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL for making our first goal of $2k, which was totally chosen at random by me, a fundraiser, who didn't know what to expect.

Let's see if we can break $3k, y'all.

Fixing a racist, violent police department isn't going to be a quick fix. The immediate firings of the four MPD officers who killed George Floyd? That small step, that totally-intuitive-and-reasonable-step, took DECADES of mobilizing, organizing, and energy by committed Black folks in Minneapolis. It took money, and time, and hundreds of protests, and thousands of phone calls and letters.

The next few months will take that same energy, time, and resources.

Black Visions Collective has been building new paths, dreaming new dreams, and pushing for a total transformation of our racist, sexist, classist systems for awhile now, and they're going to keep at it through this crisis.

That dreaming/building/pushing costs money. I'm asking committed folks of all stripes to donate $50 to this important work, with the understanding that it's going to be a long haul fight. If you're really into it, become a $10/month sustaining donor so they can plan on your money for awhile.

No quick fixes. Total transformation instead. Move your money. Let's go.
