Black Visions

Black Visions is a nonprofit organization for Black liberation based in Minnesota, founded in August 2017, that centers Black, Queer, and Trans people. Active in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area, Black Visions has been involved in Black Lives Matter protests, community safety, and environmental justice campaigns. Black Visions has lobbied for part of the Minneapolis Police Department budget to be diverted to programs that support people experiencing youth homelessness, opioid dependency, and mental health issues. In 2019, Black Visions developed an environmental justice leadership panel of people of color and indigenous people called the MN EJ Table, which is still active today. Currently, Black Visions continues its mission to organize powerful, connected Black communities and dismantle systems of violence by leading political campaigns and building community through political education and connection.
