Midwest Food Connection recognizes that food and food access is a right directly tied to freedom and liberation. Many of our children are caught in systems of inequity - unable to access healthy food or even find out what it means to eat well. While every child knows what a potato chip is, many have never seen how the actual potato grows! We want to change all that.

Midwest Food Connection is seeking support to reach students this fall with education that challenges these inequities. Our well-developed curriculum has inspired children to make healthy choices for more than 20 years. We have proof of the positive influence we have on the lives of both students and their families.

Through our direct classroom instruction in schools, we have built relationships with dozens of teachers who value our educational team, our curriculum, and the respect we show all voices. These teachers know that distance learning will be more successful if young people are healthy and learning from Midwest Food Connection.

With some of our strongest funding sources less able to give at the same level, we need your support now. Through your donation of any amount, children learn:

● Scratch cooking techniques

● How to conserve food creatively

● The fun of tasting and trying new fruits and vegetables

● Meaningful activities in the home and garden

● The importance of building new, positive relationships with food

As we all engage and empower youth through nourishing food, so they can engage and empower their communities too.

With kind regards,
