$10,000 goal

The importance of food knowledge and good nutrition can be taught in a hands-on and engaging way through the growing of plants in a school garden.  We know that students who have nurtured a plant through it's lifecycle are more likely to appreciate and consume it.

The Grow Our Own Program at Saint Paul Public Schools provides training and technical assistance for educators who are interested in starting, building or maintaining food gardens for educational use.  Your donations will help us continue to provide the necessary tools for garden-based food education such as garden beds, seeds and seedlings, gardening tools, soil and materials that make these outdoor spaces a special place to learn and grow.

This program supports the Nutrition Services vision: "To eliminate hunger and provide every child with HOPE (Healthy Options, Positive Engagement) through exceptional food."

Thank you for considering this campaign for your donation!
