After decades away from acting in theater, Constellation Stage & Screen met me in an unexpected moment of openness and has been everything wonderful. I was cast in The Importance of Being Earnest and Deathtrap last season, and these experiences were game changers.
This year, I am participating in a fundraising effort. Theater in our country is in trouble these days. And I’m happy to say that Constellation is thriving and contributing good creative work to our community here in Bloomington because of the support of folks like you. If you have it in your heart to contribute to this worthy cause, I would be deeply grateful. I’m also offering some incentives!
If you’re able to donate $50, I’ll send you a signed copy of my recent debut novel, Split Open!
If you contribute $100, I’ll send you my novel and what I consider to be a hilarious, big haired 1990 signed acting headshot from back in the day. Priceless? Sure! Weird? You bet!
Here’s how it works: Ike & Julie Arnove PlayOffs is a 24-hour play competition and fundraiser in support of Constellation Stage & Screen, Bloomington's professional theater and film organization. I’m one of dozens of participants that are gathering this month to write, direct, and produce a series of brand-new short plays in only 24 hours! I’ll be directing our team, which I’ve never done. Who knows what will happen! Why not try one more new thing?
Will you help me win the World Series?
