CHUM knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most significantly through the actions of our work. Back in 1973, 10 churches in Duluth’s Central Hillside neighborhood pooled their resources to meet the needs of the neighborhood’s many low-income residents more effectively.
Through the COVID-19 pandemic, CHUM has worked tirelessly with Saint Louis County Public Health, St. Luke’s, Essentia Health and the Duluth Family Medicine Clinic for assistance in crafting our responses and providing us with much needed essentials, such as thermometers to check shelter guests for fevers.
Working with the most vulnerable community in our area has created a greater need for separation for those who cannot isolate at home, since many are homeless.
This #GiveAtHomeMN and #GIvingTuesdayNow we are asking that those of you who are at home give to those without one. Remember, we are all in this together!
