Supporting Students Learning During Covid-19

ANEW BAM’s mission is to advance the academic success of African American youth and families through culturally responsive arts and tech education, social emotional learning, and African American history and culture. 

We address educational disparities faced by African American students in St. Paul by providing culturally relevant programming staffed entirely by people of color who represent their community. Our comprehensive programs incorporate culturally competent lessons, mentors, and approaches that support students’ social and emotional needs, as well as academic learning. 

ANEW BAM’s work is more important than ever as COVID-19 exacerbates the educational and economic disparities faced by our community. We responded quickly to adapt our programming to serve students virtually – continuing to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs online.
