Whether it is a lively yet civil political discussion on FramGov, neighbors helping neighbors during our record breaking winter storms via Frambors, or neighborhood advocacy on Nobscot Neighbors, these forums have made a real difference in the lives of Framingham residents.
Founder Steve Orr's vision was to create vibrant set of forums committed to building a greater sense of community in Framingham. To see his vision become a reality, Steve absorbed many of the costs of running the forums, and provided all of the technical support behind the scenes. When Steve suddenly passed away in early 2013, we were faced with finding a new home that preserved the accessibility and transparency that Steve valued so much.
Fortunately, we connected with E-Democracy, an award-winning non-profit that has helped jump start local issue forums across the globe. E-Democracy is now 100% supported through donations of forum members, and the organization is currently engaged in its end-of-year fundraising campaign. Now is our opportunity to give back to this organization that gave us a new home.
Donations will be used to cover server costs and provide ongoing support through the Help Desk.
With a combined membership of over 2,500 members, we continue to maintain Steve's legacy and carry out his vision of a connected community. Your donation will be an investment in the growth and organic exchange happening in the Framingham community.
