E-Democracy uses online tools to connect neighbors, community members, and professionals to support participation in public life, strengthen communities, and build democracy.

We put a special emphasis on reaching low-income, culturally diverse communities and neighborhoods less likely to be served by other online social media groups.

By using targeted outreach efforts to reach people "where they are," we are building the world's largest network of highly diverse, online forums.

In addition to our local activities, we share lessons and globally connect people interested in building online community and civic engagement.

The goals of E-Democracy are:

Goal 1 — Inclusive Engagement

Strengthen, broaden, and stimulate diverse engagement through effective, meaningful, and informed online discussion and exchange on public issues

Goal 2 — Active Citizenship

Empower people through interactions, experiences, and online skills to have an impact on their communities and governments

Goal 3 — Effective Practices and Tools

Develop, leverage, and disseminate online practices and tools from around the world to promote engagement and active citizenship

Your donation will support projects and activities such as:

  • technology improvements
  • field outreach
  • volunteer training
  • forum engagement activities
  • e-communications
