We are all facing a lot of uncertainties these days. Many of us have increased stress and anxiety trying to figure out how to navigate through these next few weeks. Most of us are counting our blessings that we can work from home and spend more time with our kids. Imagine, though, being told to "stay at home" when you have no home. Imagine trying to practice social distancing when you live in community with other families. Imagine living paycheck to paycheck and having your work shutdown for an indefinite period of time. Imagine the struggle to provide meals for your family without a paycheck and a lack of transportation.
Homelessness is one of the few things that doesn't get to shutdown and wait until this is all over. In fact, we expect it to get worse over the next couple months. At Family Promise in Anoka County, we are committed to continuing forward with our mission, to provide temporary shelter, hospitality, and case management to assist families experiencing homelessness achieve housing independence. Our work looks a little different right now, but we are still pressing forward because now is not the time to turn away struggling families.
Your gifts will help to ensure we have the resources we need to continue serving families well into the future.
