Support Those Most Isolated in Our Community, and Connect With Their Stories
Your recurring donation of $20 will help feed one senior in your community each month. In return, you will learn about their interests, their connection to our community, and how your donation to SACA will impact their lives through a monthly senior highlight.
Your support not only feeds homebound seniors in need; it also provides SACA with the funds to operate and grow the delivery program so that we are able to reach all those in need of assistance. Please consider supporting a homebound senior in the community with a sustained commitment to SACA.
Did you know: In 2020, Minnesotan seniors made 512,539 visits to food shelves, up 31% from 2019! Source: https://bit.ly/3gOnhE5
In 2014, five area food shelves, including SACA, created a food delivery program to serve homebound folks in communities throughout Anoka County. As supportive grant funds came to an end, SACA was determined to continue this essential service, and established SACA Delivers in 2017. We continue to serve isolated seniors, people with differing abilities, and homebound folks in the Anoka County community, growing from an initial 50 participants to well over 150 a month in just three years.
At the onset of COVID-19, essential safety measures were put in place, and volunteers and participants were not able to make face-to-face connections.
