SACA Food Shelf & Thrift Store

SACA (an acronym for Southern Anoka Community Assistance) is a fresh-focused Community Market and thrift store located in Columbia Heights, MN. We have served the community for 50 years. Thanks to a successful capital campaign, we moved into a much larger, newly renovated building in spring 2026. Since then, SACA is serving 5X (!!!) the number of families per day and expanding access to fresh and nutritious foods to the Northeast community and beyond. Over 200 families visit our Community Market every day we're open. Everyone is welcome to visit our Community Market whenever we are open, regardless of their address or income level. There are no limits restrictions or limits on visits. 

SACA’s programs include:

• Fresh-focused Community Market offering fresh produce, milk, eggs, meat, and pantry staples
• A volunteer-run thrift store where all proceeds support our food programs
• Morning Markets offers appointments that provide market selections along with pet food and hygiene items
• Grocery delivery for homebound seniors in partnership with ACCAP
• Mobile Market for low income neighbors where we rescue and redistribute food to low income buildings in our community
• Holiday Meal Distribution in partnership with the Spring Lake Park Lions and ACCAP provide holiday turkey and meal fixings to families in need 

Our community has supported SACA from its beginnings in a residential house to the large community food hub that we are today. As SACA continues to grow, we need the ongoing support of the community to meet the increasing need, expand our operations, and grow into the future.

Here's what you're gift means to SACA:

For just $.50, SACA is able to provide almost 10 pounds of food for a local neighbor. 

$100 provides 2,000 pounds of food or 1,666 meals for families in need 

$600 provides 2 months of gas for our food rescue truck 

$1,000 pays for a delivery of fresh meats, eggs, produce, and milk from our food bank partner
