While the past year brought immense challenges that impacted our communities, country, and world, we have also seen resilience, hope, imagination, and opportunities that will guide us in the years to come. This time has shown how important connections to community and the outdoors are, and how the natural world can be a place for safely gathering together again.
Access to the outdoors has become one of the most important means for maintaining social connection, emotional wellbeing, and physical health. Through small group and family trips, educational and place-based programs for youth, and partnerships that extend into the communities we serve, Wilderness Inquiry programs are geared to ensure that access to the outdoors is inclusive of people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
When you donate, your support directly impacts our ability to connect youth to experiential outdoor learning opportunities, break down barriers to outdoor access for people with disabilities, and foster social connection for so many in our community who have felt isolated in the past year. This season we will return to many of our familiar destinations, with trips on the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers, to the Boundary Waters and Apostle Islands, to Yellowstone and Olympic National Parks, and to other destinations close to home and further afield. We will also continue to break down barriers to outdoor participation to create a more just, equitable, and inclusive outdoors — in Minnesota and beyond.
Please join us in this endeavor as we work together to ensure that the outdoors remains a place where everyone belongs.
