Little Falls Summer Musical is excited to produce the world-premiere performance of Darling, a new play by Taryn Verley. Darling retells the 1905 murder of Morrison County resident Annie Kintop, and about the ill-fated investigation that followed. The story reveals the character of Ms. Kintop as a pioneering young woman, and dramatizes how an early 20th-century rural community dealt with this infamous crime. An original theme song and selections of traditional period music will be woven through the play to set the tone and support the story.

The playwright, Taryn Verley, is a former Little Falls resident. She earned a Masters Degree in Playwriting from Augsburg College, and has led multiple theatre initiatives in the Minneapolis area.

The director, Abigail Schnobrich, is a Little Falls High School English teacher and drama coach. She has directed and performed in numerous plays and musicals, including several productions at GREAT Theatre in St. Cloud.

As part of the project, LF Summer Musical is collaborating with the Morrison County Historical Society to create a historical exhibit based on the events dramatized in the play. The exhibit will be on display at the Weyerhaeuser Museum this summer, as well as in the lobby at Charles D. Martin Auditorium during Darling performances Aug. 5-8, 2021.

Your donation will help LF Summer Musical cover the technical costs of staging a play with music. Thank you for your generosity!
