Each year, D10 Como Community Council hosts five community events throughout Saint Paul’s Como neighborhood that gather over 1,800 Como neighbors, over 100 volunteers, and 30 local organizations. Each of these events is uniquely planned to focus on the individual assets of each area of our neighborhood (see back for details).

All events are free to the community and include food, live music, family activities, local organization tabling, and an aspect unique to the event (pie contest, ice cream social, community clean up, or a pancake breakfast). We partner with local organizations to continually improve these events and make them even more accessible to all of the neighbors who call Como home.

In order to host these events and keep them relevant to our increasingly diverse community, we need financial support to keep planning and growing our reach in the neighborhood.

The Como Community Council exists for YOU, our Como neighbor! We're your vehicle for community engagement: a trusted messenger of information, a conduit to the city and county, and a hub for events to stay connected to neighbors and to improve the neighborhood we love so much.

Your donation keeps this good work going!

In 2024, we did a lot. Here's some of it:

  • We continued our Community Engagement Program, anchored by events in each of our four subdistricts. In total, we got to meet over 1,800 neighbors at these events.
  • We sent 52 Weekly Newsletters to over 2,100 subscribers, maintaining an over 60% open rate and over 22,000 clicks!
  • We held 24 community meetings with nearly 500 attendees to plan our initiatives and discuss prescient neighborhood and regional topics.
  • In partnership with Capitol Region Watershed District, we planned four Lake Como cleanups where 150 volunteers removed 274 pounds of trash from our lake and surrounding paths, in the Fall we coordinated a Curb Cleanup that prevented 2.89 Tons of curly leaf pondweed from blooming in the lake.
  • We published 24 Know Your Como Stories written by volunteers who interviewed their neighbors, local business owners, and researched neighborhood history.
  • In partnership with Como Zoo and Conservatory and the American Red Cross, we held four blood drives that collected 242 units of blood from 223 donors.
  • In partnership with the City of St. Paul, we anchored the Citywide Drop-Off at Fairgrounds. 750 people dropped of items large and small for safe disposal, including 21 TONS of electronics recycling!

With your support, we'll reach even more neighbors and do even more good in the coming year. Thank you for considering a donation to your small but mighty neighborhood organization!
