Corcoran Neighborhood Organization is currently led by a Black Woman and operates one of the very few Black and Queer led Farmers Market in the state. Corcoran is a working-class neighborhood and home to Minneapolis South High School, MinneapolUS Violence Interrupter team and Midtown Farmers Market. For almost five (5) decades, Corcoran neighborhood residents, volunteers, and staff members, serve as a bridge to gather useful information and share insights in the nuances of policy-making, civic engagement and overall city and agency priorities.

In 2020, at the beginning of the global pandemic we began to supplement food and basic needs of our fellow community members thus the C-Spot was born to meet the needs of our fellow community members. We operate the C-Spot 4 days a week where neighbors are able to come and shop with dignity for food and basic life resources. The C-Spot is a barrier free resource center for community.

Corcoran has partnered and collaborated with other small community based organization in both North and South Minneapolis assisting in increase diverse public participation through project development and implementation, engaging historically forgotten residents meaningfully and effectively on policies and programs that impact them and in decision-making with a focus on furthering equity.

We have partnered with T.O.U.C.H Outreach to provide Violence Interrupters along the Lake Street corridor and other areas of the city. We also host a series of community gathers with our partners. Corcoran is the little neighborhood that could so we do! We have offered homeownership workshops for people interested in owning homes, work with renters support groups. Partnered with other organization to offer workshops in community around civic engagement in Spanish and hosted culturally relevant and requested events. Lastly, we give flexibility to change plans or add as the community may request with in reason.

We need your financial support so please consider a gift to CNO.
