“Having friends with children living on the Autism Spectrum,  I understand the impact specialized services can have on the family as a whole.  I am also a firm believer in stepping forward to help support the people and places providing a framework of support for youth and adults with Autism.  I want them to be more comfortable  managing their lives and live fuller lives because of these specialized services.”     Nancy S – Autism Center Donor

ProAct is a non-profit organization providing individuals with disabilities a broad range of life skills, virtual and in person enrichment classes and activities and employment services for those interested in entering or reentering the workforce.  The disabilities served range from intellectual to physical to communication disorders including those on the Autism Spectrum.  The number of individuals served who live with Autism or related communication disorders continue to rise and we see a growing need to build an Autism center within our agency walls to provide participants a safe and calming environment to go to when the stressors of the day become too much.

ProAct's Autism Center project started last year but due to the pandemic we had to place this project on hold. We are now in the process of reestablishing and continuing our focus on the Autism Center being built,  but we lack the funds to equip and supply the space with lighting, swings, couches, weighted blankets and other sensory tools needed to make our Autism center a space that effectively serves our participants!

With $7,000 we will be able to purchase some of the following:

•Calming bubble tube - $1,899 •Aroma Therapy machine - $250

•Floor mats $498 •Weighted Blankets - $210  •Bean bag chairs- $180

•Leather rockers $1,598 •Headphones - $120 •Vibrating cushions - $150

•Leather sofas $2,396 •Projector - $1,100 •Work tables - $750

•Side chairs – 1,264 •Computers - $1,494 •Computer table - $435
