AN UPDATE FROM CEAP ON COVID-19:

March is always an extremely important month for CEAP with the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign. This year, the month of March has taken on an entirely different meaning. The presence and spread of COVID-19 has introduced an additional challenge for our neighbors and for CEAP. This pandemic has led CEAP to pivot our strategy and find new, safe ways to do what we do best: provide assistance to our neighbors in an emergency.

While our original Community Challenge goal remains at $150,000 this money is no longer about March FoodShare-- it's about keeping our doors open and keeping our neighbors nourished.

CEAP will continue to serve our neighbors the same amount of meals, visits and pounds; but we will be shifting our distribution approach to limit exposure. Our food market will be going curbside by providing CEAP Essentials, a pre-packed collection of fresh food and shelf-stable items that will provide up to two weeks of food for a family of four.

Our Meals on Wheels program will be deploying frozen meals to our neighbors through a 2-week distribution delivery method with continued daily check-ins via phone from our Meals on Wheels Coordinator.

CEAP is doing everything we can to prepare for all scenarios, but we desperately need the help of our community to make this possible. CEAP’s ability to adjust nimbly and meet the needs of your neighbors in the face of this emergency is dependent on the financial support we receive.  Please make a donation and help CEAP meet the needs of your neighbors!

ORIGINAL NOTE FROM TIF:

Hi everyone! I'm hosting a fundraiser for CEAP Community Challenge.  CEAP is a nonprofit very dear to my heart. It nourishes our community through its free food market, Meals on Wheels program, and pop-up food distributions for children, teens and seniors.  I believe in CEAP and its integral role in our community so much that not only did I work there for 8 years before becoming a stay at home mom,  I recruited my mom to volunteer there, I encouraged my sister to apply to work there (which she now does as Meals on Wheels Coordinator), and I now volunteer my time there as well!

Every dollar donated to CEAP from March 1st - April 12th will be matched by me dollar for dollar up to $100, along with a dollar for dollar match from CEAP's Board of Directors.  Plus a portion of every dollar and pound donated will be matched by Minnesota FoodShare.  The more CEAP raises the bigger the portion they match!

Please help me nourish our neighbors this spring by accepting my CEAP Community Challenge. It takes all of us to grow a stronger community, and it starts with you and me.
