The Bronzeville Food Co-op is a group of community members and local nonprofits working to establish a co-op grocery store in the Near East Side neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio. This community-owned store will focus on high-quality local food and reinvest profits into our neighborhood.
For too long, neighbors have gone without consistent access to fresh and affordable food. The co-op is a direct response to this need. We are creating a store that reflects community values and supports local growers and makers.
The Bronzeville Food Co-op stands on four values:
- Equity: Healthy food at fair prices
- Community Power: Members shape decisions
- Sustainability: Practices that last
- Shared Ownership: Responsibility and benefit together
Your gift helps turn this vision into a working grocery store!
Steering Committee and residents/stakeholders hear presentation on proposed sites
- Feasibility and site analysis to identify a viable location for the store.
- Planning and build-out costs
- Partnerships with local farmers and vendors
- Education and outreach to strengthen community input
Impact Statement:
Every contribution brings us closer to opening our doors. Together we can restore food access, build neighborhood wealth, and create a grocery store that truly belongs to the community!
