MISSION STATEMENT

Our Metro Quail Forever Chapter wants to teach stewardship of our natural resources to adults and youth with exciting outdoor activities which will include: community projects, wildlife habitat building such as planting trees, fishing trips, bird and plant identifications, tubing, trap shooting, apple picking, and more.

We want to promote morals and ethics in our youth by getting them outdoors as much as possible.  We want to develop a love of nature and bird watching by providing each member with a Bird Identification Book to learn more about birds.  These activities hopefully will improve conditions when it comes to our youth, society, and the environment.

Quail Forever

  • GOALS:
  • Encourage our youth with moral, ethical, and spiritual examples
  • Demonstrate how a common interest in conservation can bridge different cultures
  • Improve wildlife habitat including pollinator and bird habitat
  • Leverage the Quail Forever program "No Child Left Indoors (NCLI) to lead regular outings for youth
  • Teach stewardship of our natural resources
    • Population we serve - Ages 8-17 years

ALL our activities are free to the youth.

We provide a light meal with each event such as pizza/ hot dogs, chips, and a beverage.  With our transportation, we encourage parents to come along and help drive, but we are trying to solicit bus/van for transportation as well.  We encourage adults who would like to volunteer and help with this project to contact: Thurman Tucker, President of the Metro QF Chapter.

Our fishing trips are free of charge also thanks to "Fishing For Life." They provide the boats, gas, and drivers for their events.  We are always looking for more Corporate Sponsors to help defray costs.

The chapter is open to all children boys and girls between 8-17 yrs., but focuses on Metro Area (Minneapolis/St. Paul) including inner city youth.

With the cooperation of sporting and conservation clubs, and our sponsors, the chapter believes it can conduct more outdoor events with your help.  We are trying to help our environment by building pollinator and bird habitat.  By improving Quail Habitat it benefits other wildlife as well.

Note:  Due to Covid-19 the above activities were shutdown for safety reasons; however, we look forward to starting up activities again as soon as it is safe to do so. Therefore, in the mean time, we want to prepare for this fall and winter and purchase mittens, caps, and bird books. Some of our children want to go on outdoor activities especially in the winter put can be missing gloves or hats so we want to be prepared if this happens so no child is left out. We also have a need for shovels, rakes, binoculars, and other outdoor gear like chain saws (adults do this work) necessary for building brush piles and buying plant materials.

THE NUMBERS ARE GOING DOWN DRASTICALLY FOR MANY SPECIES OF WILDLIFE INCLUDING
