Belwin’s Bison Tower is a local landmark for outdoor enthusiasts. Standing sentry above our 130-acre bison prairie, it offers guests glimpses of a resident bison herd, and is a wonderful place for experiencing the peace and vitality of the tallgrass prairie.
This year, Belwin Conservancy is giving the tower a planned upgrade. Any structure requires maintenance, and after twelve years, this one is ready for a refresh that will ensure the continued safety and enjoyment of our visitors. Help us meet our priority goal of raising $15,000 to revitalize this special structure. The first $10,000 will add an extra 180 square feet of viewing area, widen the steps, and add new safety features to the existing tower, while $5,000 will complete wildlife-friendly fencing around the bison prairie.
Finally, an additional $13,000 would help us fully realize our vision with an improved parking lot that includes the addition of a wood shelter for a satellite toilet and accessibility features for people with mobility needs.
