You may know that homelessness is near and dear to our hearts at Beaverton Social Justice League. We have been working hard on raising awareness and while the issue and solutions seem overwhelming, we have found national model that seems to address the real problem of children sleeping in cars and tents in Beaverton.
Last year, over 1,600 students in the Beaverton School District were affected by housing instability or found themselves without any shelter at all. Please help families take a U-Turn toward success in an effort to make sure every student has the stability they need.
The current wait-list for family housing in Washington County is 6-8 weeks. Approximately 50 families currently are waiting for shelter. Capacity in Washington County is for 17 families.
Help Family Promise of Beaverton bring that number to 22.
This event will happen rain or shine because our homeless children and their families don't have the luxury of driving home to a warm bed.
